Oh man, this was one of the pages I first designed when I was storyboarding this chapter. I hope it's clear as to what's going on!

(Twitter will happen, but I haven't had time to set one up yet!)

I'll stay quiet now and let the page do the talking for itself!

Anaconda really has an affect on people.
I'm betting on Fang winning, who else?

Alright, get why her name is "Fang" now, other than to make that one loner joke. I think it's a really cool concept to have a tough character who is also a book dork (I know bookworm is a better term and is easier to understand, but I like "book dork" more. I have no idea why). I think adding new characters later after the start of a story is great because unlike the characters who have been in the story from the very start, these new characters a rich with possible backstories. Even just saying that a few of them are friends of Zeda can make readers wonder where they are from and how Zeda met them. Fang, who has only been in 11 pages has already show lots of personality and some sort of... thing that hasn't really been fully described.
I have more to say but not sure who would even read as much as I've already typed, so I'm stopping here.

Actually, screw it, one more thing, I promise it won't be too long (I hope).
It's hard to tell what's going on here, but not in the way you were worried about I don't think. I know that Fang *somehow* sensed Anaconda, but I don't know why everyone so far is assuming there is going to be a winner and a loser and a fight (Well, I'll admit that is probably what you have in mind). Fang did the claws thing and threw a punch, which might not have been the best move because, you know, the claws (why punch and not swipe?), and Anaconda caught it. But while Fang, who is supposedly on the defence, is going full berzerk on Anaconda, who we are meant to believe initiated the fight, Anaconda has taken the passive defence route. (Passive defence is a real thing, I swear. Just don't look it up... XD)
Okay, I lied, this is just as long and twice as irrelevant.

@Explode7:
Might've missed some words there but YES!

@Ty1233456789:
Anaconda really draws out the claws in people, huh?

@Phate:
GASP! :O Maybe Anaconda is Gell's favorite character too?

@Triforce Fandom:
Haha Thank you so much!! ^_^

@AdvocateofVoid:
Oh my god oh my god this is fantastic please you're welcome to continue I eat this sort of deep analysis up!! I'll address a few things but I hope others will respond to you after me as well!!

First of all, and I meant to answer this on the other page, but you're right about Fang's name in both ways! It DOES have this deeper meaning as we're seeing for the first time on this page, but ALSO Fang named herself, as all Mobians name themselves, not just Pudding and Banana! (This is covered briefly in the "Introduction" tab at the top of the comic, I think!)

I totally agree with your point on the new characters and I have so much in store for all of them! I'm so excited to finally be at a point where I can have the new characters carry scenes on their own, such as this one!
All I'll say about your second comment, (Which I love as well,) is that Fang IS meant to be going for more of a swipe rather than a punch, though I can see why that might be confusing. Fang's got her claws all pointed directly at Anaconda, rather than her knuckles!

@zenpai sweet.
Secretkeeper626 11th Feb 2017, 1:32 PM edit delete reply
@explode7 thanks! I actually got another idea that Fang and Anaconda might be PARTS of an Angel and the reason they're after that book is because they're trying to restore some part of their memory.

Fang is an angeling, a mortal angel hybrid. Anaconda is a demonette, a mortal demon hybrid. That's my theory on those two.

ty1233456789 12th Feb 2017, 10:56 AM edit delete reply
I feel like Anaconda is like Snape, everyone thinks she's evil, but she's actually a gaurdian, and she's going to take the book from Fang to protect her from things she shouldn't know.
Or she's trying to resurrect the demon, that's a possibility too

Lol, Okay, you asked for it, even though at this point it's probably too late for anyone to read it.
It seems that somehow Anaconda invoked a fight or flight response from Fang (whether this is because Fang has a wolfie sense or because Anaconda is Nagisa from Assassination Classroom, we might never know). Since Fang probably doesn't have the ability to sense true evil intent and Anaconda is probably more of a treasure thief than an assassin, could it be that Fang is instinctively protecting the book because the book is affecting her? Firstly, we know that the book is REALLY rare because someone wants it so much that they would go to what they think is the party of a rich brat (Anaconda) and someone else who likes visiting libraries in the middle of social gatherings because that's how much they like libraries (Fang) exclaims how odd it is for a book like it to exist. With that in mind in a world where angels, sky crystals, and whatever Fang is exists, it's possible that the book itself is magic and has an addictive affect.
If anyone actually read that the whole way through, then welcome to my rambling style of analysis and theorizing. I am fully aware that that could have been written in a way someone other than me could understand, but instead of rewriting it, I'll just say that I was trying to suggest that the book could be magic and affecting Fang to make her attack Anaconda out of the blue.
