Hello everyone! Lots of announcements here. First and most obviously- The chapter is over! It's been one of my absolute favorites to make, and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! ^_^

Along with the end of the chapter comes a few new things! First off, the splash page from this chapter is now available as a shirt! (It also is still a poster and other assorted products!)

Secondly, the ever-lovely miss Heartless has written up three new bios for the super alter-egos of Pudding, Miles and Chia! Please take a look! : D

Thirdly, SO MANY of you have been answering my questions and it's VERY FUN FOR ME! I can hardly keep up with you all!
For this page we'll do something a little different- use the comments below to ask me questions about the comic! I know a number of you left questions on the previous page- and if I haven't had a chance to answer them by the time this page goes live, please leave them again and I promise I'll answer them! All comments are welcome, new and old! Yes, Miles' name is intentionally an homage to Tails!

Next chapter has got a very different tone, and I'll see you then! ; D

What have been your biggest inspirations for making Dot X?

I loved this chapter a lot! It added some more personality to Chia, and showed Miles and Puddings relationship in a different light, rather than him duct-taping her to a wall or something along those lines. Also the COLOURS! I simply ADORED the colours used to design the characters. Super Duper Hero X had light and sweet colours that matched up nicely, Professor Inventor had dark colours, like his personality, and Althea was great because she had contrasting black and white, with some gold that added to her 'theif' character design. :> Overall, this chapter was great. (Sorry I rambled!)

I think there should be huge a chapter (or chapters) in which a huge story line develops and an adventure starts, including every character, digging deeper into the legend of Mobius. Also when is the ball going to start? And when it does, what will happen to Gell, Speedy, and Sparx?, since none of them have a relationship?

How do you do it? You only have 3 or 4 days to think about, draw, scan, and complete a page, in only three days!! I understand having extra time, but you also have a lie and a youtube channel!!! you also wake up at 12 A.M. just to post a picture, for a bunch of people you don't even know!! (Oh yeah by the way thank you, this comic is amazing.) I just don't even know how it's even possible?!?!! You're also a really good drawer.

Youtube comment: you should do an episode where everyone is in it, even your little bro. he should also be on the title screen because you love him.

@AnonyMcMouse:
No worries! Questions are not mandatory. -And thank you! : )

@Darth Escar:
Good question! STORY TIME.

Way back in elementary school, me and my friends used to spend our time during recess playing as Sonic characters, and over time we all created our own characters to play as. Thus, the cast and stories of DotX were gradually born! (I suppose it goes without saying, but the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise was the biggest inspiration for bringing DotX into reality. Specifically, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Heroes, and the animated cutscenes from Sonic CD!) Now because DotX was a large group story with many minds working together to breathe life into it, there were many inspirations from many different people, and this went on for several years, accumulating a HUGE mass of scrapped characters and concepts. Some inspirations I remember having an influence on bits and pieces of DotX during this time (both from myself and the others) are as follows:

Sailor Moon, Danny Phantom, Animal Crossing, One Piece, Lilo and Stitch, Digimon, and tons more that I can't think of off the top of my head. Fun fact! I never watched Sailor Moon or One Piece, but I know from my friends that they were instrumental in bringing some of DotX to reality!

However, from this period of time, I'd say by far the two things that inspired the overall direction that DotX as a whole took were Kids Next Door and Kingdom Hearts. Those two were HUGE inspirations for DotX, and I'd say their impact can still be seen from time to time in this comic! (During this time period, I'd be the one to draw comics of the DotX characters, so in a way this comic has a long and very embarrassing prequel? My inspiration to draw comics back then AND STILL TODAY, is Peanuts and Calvin & Hobbes. I think that's apparent in my art style!)

But now on to the comic you all know!

Years later, DotX was something I still thought about from time to time, and though I had grown a little distant from most of the original creators of these characters, I decided to revive DotX! This decision was ENTIRELY inspired by Sonic Generations, which reminded me of all the fun I had with Sonic games in the past, and in turn reminded me of how much I loved the stories and characters of Dot X. Sonic Generations is why this comic exists.

My intention with this comic is to capture the feelings we had when playing DotX back in the day while spinning an overarching story through the whole thing rather than have it be a collection of episodic but unrelated bits featuring the same pool of characters. All the previous inspirations remain, but these past few years have had me gain a number of other more modern inspirations, such as Gravity Falls, and the music of The Bird and the Bee. (Check them out! FANTASTIC.)

However, my biggest inspiration for this comic by a landslide is wanting to make DotX into something that would've inspired me as a child.

I hope that's a long enough answer! '^_^

@Sea
Thank you so much!! Figuring out the colors for these three was actually quite the process. They're among the first characters made up FOR this comic! (Technically, Zeda and Chia received redesigns since back in the day, so them too!)

I'm so glad you liked this chapter! : D

Also no worries about rambling. Did you see what I just posted before this!? ;P

@ThatRandomGuy
Aha! Though it might be hard to see at this point, a huge overarching story which all of DotX ties into has already begun to slowly reveal itself. (HINT HINT)

Everything in this comic has a purpose. Everything is relevant. Don't forget about Fade's slingshot. The climb to the climax of the story is slow, but trust me, it'll speed up. Though the individual chapters are more improv, the story as a whole has been planned out since before I started making the first page.
I'm in this for the long run! ;D

As for the Ball... Soon! Fairly soon! Including the chapter that's about to start, it's three chapters away! (And DANG it's a long one! With many characters! Maybe even some new ones!? I HAVEN'T DECIDED YET AW JEEZ)

Next, WOAH THANK YOU FOR ALL THOSE COMPLIMENTS I APPRECIATE IT WITH ALL MY HEART! It's wonderful to hear that all the effort I'm putting into this isn't for nothing! :3

I'll talk a little bit about my schedule, since you kinda asked! Each page of DotX takes a solid two days to make from start to finish, with breaks to eat and sleep of course! I usually work Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday on the comic, but there are exceptions! I try to stay at least a page or two ahead of what's uploaded. (Currently, I'm working on page 240!) As for uploading, it's on a timer! I don't have to be here at midnight for the page to go up. (...Though often I am if I'm not ahead in the comics. A few have gone up after midnight because of that but shhhh)

SkyJam filming happens mostly on weekends, and we film SEVERAL MONTHS AHEAD. We're in the middle of filming SotC, which will air in mid-September. In February we filmed Megaman 2, which is currently scheduled for November, but we might have to push it back to fit in more seasonal games before December hits. THINGS ARE A LITTLE BIT CHAOTIC! I do all the art for SkyJam, (Thumbnails, intros, etc) but lucky for me, James does all the editing! Whew!
Also in regards to your other SkyJam comment, we really want to have everyone on at once, but schedules are tough! As of right now, we've filmed games with seven different people, and we know who ALL the spaces in the intro are going to end up being! Getting everyone together at once is really hard, and insanely chaotic! We've had to scrap entire playthroughs because we were all being too loud... But we're learning! : D
