I debated holding off on showing TinMan!Hurricane's hand until some point later in the chapter, but I figured no matter how much I built it up, it was still just a sword, and in a chapter filled with anticipation over which character is who, it didn't hold up!

Besides, it'd be odd if Pudding didn't bring it up!

Hahaha thank you! I'm so happy you're enjoying all the little details I've been throwing into this world/these costumes! ^_^

That's a good question! I knew I wanted to do a chapter that was a dream sequence, and I wanted it to be a parody because A. It'd be fun to cast the characters and characters we all know, and B. Dreams are super weird! By making it a story we're all familiar with, it's easy for you as a reader to get hooked into this dream reality. I can still do fun and weird things because it's a dream, but it'll never be too bizarre because the story itself is one we're all familiar with!

Now why Wizard of OZ itself? It seemed to be the perfect fit to me. The other two ideas that came close were StarWars and Romeo&Juliet, but I feel like both of those would alienate some readers! Not everybody knows/likes those two by heart the way that EVERYONE is familiar with the Wizard of Oz! Because of that, the focus stays on the fun of who is who, rather than what's going to happen. We know what's going to happen! (Or do we??)

To me, the Wizard of Oz is one of those perfect stories. The plot is simple and memorable! The characters colorful and fun, but none of them are so set in stone that I couldn't work a Dot X character in there. If I did StarWars instead, no matter who I cast as who, I'd have to keep them closer to the StarWars character than the DotX one to make the plot work. If Miles is Darth Vader, who would be Luke? Miles doesn't have a son, and that's too big a plot point to ignore. The Wizard of Oz isn't like that. I could put anyone as anyone in this chapter and it could work.

Another story that I feel is 'perfect' or 'pure' enough that DotX would fit it is A Christmas Carol. (Expect that one for Holiday Season 2015)

Besides, The Wizard of Oz has so many different versions! The book, the movie, the animated movie, the Wiz, Wicked, and each takes a slightly different angle on the same story, there's so much to work with!

And just to draw another reason why The Wizard of Oz is so perfect for this: Dorothy's journey through Oz was all a dream in the original story/movie as well! The characters were all based on people she knew in the real world! Pretty fitting, eh?

I love the Wizard of Oz as a story and it fit really well!

Thanks for asking!!
